Target Finds

So, I finally made it to Target after seeing all of everyone in blog land with their great finds!  I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find the mini pocket charts with the dry erase boards on them.  Maybe  next time.

I found these cute Dr. Seuss items.  Erasers and Silly Bands.  Probably going to use these as treasure box reward items.

I found some cute wooden pointers, mini dry erase markers and magnetic mini erasers for the white boards.

I found Smellies!  LOL. If you are thinking I'm crazy right now you have to read Mrs. Miner's super cool idea for teaching left and right at her blog http://kindergartenmonkeybusiness.blogspot.com/2011/07/teaching-left-and-right.html

Crayon Wreath for my door this year

I had a lot of fun making this.  It took one foam wreath, two rolls of ribbon, 4 boxes of crayons, and a hot glue gun.  I want to add a little something to it at the bottom.  Maybe a bow or something with welcome on it.

End of the year gifts for my students

So, with the gift card that I won, I purchased beach buckets for my kiddos.  I used my favorite new craft machine...the Silhouette SD craft cutter to decorate them. Check out the pics!  I only have to buy goodies to go in them now.

Taking it back a bit to share a Fall idea...I was looking through photos and remembered the activity

Back in the Fall I took my class on a Fall Walk in the park next to our school.  I gave them each a Ziploc bag and told them to collect things that are signs of fall.  Such as colored leaves, acorns, etc.  When we came back to the classroom we read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.  Then, I had my students create a leaf creature by arranging and gluing down some of their findings.  After making their creature, animal, or person they had to write a story about it.  They turned out so cute and much better than I had expected.  I know it is almost Spring now but when I saw this in my picture album on my computer as I was flipping through I just had to share it while it was on my mind.  Save the idea and use it next Fall if you like it.

New kid on the blog

I am so excited to be the new kid on the Blog.  I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now and I finally had a little time to get one going.  However, I am very new to this and don't know how to attach my documents to share and stuff like that just yet, but I am learning thanks to tutorials on YouTube.  So...bare with me as I learn while I go!  I hope for my blog to be a place to share ideas with other teachers and learn from one another.
